Is NEON NIGHTS a race or a fun run?

NEON NIGHTS is designed as a family-friendly participation event rather than a competitive race. Participants can choose to walk, jog or run their selected distance while enjoying colour stations, neon lighting, music, DJs and entertainment throughout the course. The focus is on fun, participation and community involvement.

What events are available to enter into?

Participants can choose from:

  • 2.5km Arm in Arm Walk & Talk

  • 5km Glow Rush

The course’s circumnavigate around Sumsion Gardens in a clockwise direction. This is a community event not a race.

What should I wear?

Participants are encouraged to wear bright, white or neon-coloured clothing to maximise the visual effects of the event. Comfortable enclosed footwear suitable for walking or running is required. AND BYO GLOWSTICKS!!!

Can I bring a pram, stroller or wheelchair?

Yes. NEON NIGHTS is designed to be inclusive and welcomes participants using prams, strollers, wheelchairs and mobility aids. The course is predominantly flat and suitable for a range of accessibility needs being a footpath.

To enhance participant safety and provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone, a dedicated start line may be allocated for participants with prams, strollers, wheelchairs and mobility aids, allowing additional space before the main participant field commences. Specific start times and event-day procedures will be communicated to registered participants prior to the event.

Participants are encouraged to remain mindful of other course users and follow directions from event marshals and officials at all times.

No. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. By registering, participants acknowledge and accept this condition as part of the event Terms and Conditions.

Can I transfer my entry or receive a refund if I can't attend?

Yes. NEON NIGHTS is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for participants of all ages. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times. Children participating in longer distances should select a distance appropriate to their age and ability.

Can children participate?

For the safety of participants, spectators and animals, pets are not permitted on the course or within the Event Village, except for registered assistance animals.

Are pets permitted?

NEON NIGHTS will proceed in most weather conditions. Participants should dress appropriately for the forecast conditions. In the event of severe weather, extreme conditions or circumstances beyond the organiser's control that may impact participant safety, Centre Stage Event Company reserves the right to modify, postpone, relocate or cancel the event. Participants should monitor official event communications for updates.

What happens if it rains?

Participant safety is a priority. The event will include:

  • Event marshals positioned throughout the course.

  • Clearly marked directional signage.

  • Hydration station.

  • St John Ambulance First Aid services.

  • Event support and event communications.

  • Dedicated Start/Finish management areas.

  • Lighting towers throughout the Event Village.

  • Emergency management and incident response procedures.

  • Participants encouraged to bring a torch or head lamp.

Participants are required to follow all directions issued by event staff, volunteers, emergency services and event officials.
